Driftwood Package
Taitung is abundant in natural resources. After the torrential rain, there are plenty of drifting woods on the bed of river mouth. Drifting woods are managed by Taitung government and opened up to public occasionally. As a result of combing local experience and concern, drifting woods have become the most representative material of artistic creation in Taitung.
"Driftwood Package" is a 2to5-day workshop for real creation and pure experience of Taitung culture.

Every wood came from different wondering journey and had unique appearance of its own. They recorded the stories of ancient forests. So let’s go to the sea ! In summer afternoon, come with us to the beach and share all the stories. The drifting woods you pick up will then become a masterpiece in the workshop. On your way home, it’ll be a part of Taitung with you.

Artists in Taitung use a lot of drifting woods. There creation and exhibition popped around Taiwan Sugar Corporation, Dou-Lan Distillery and Jialulan Recreation Area. These crafts and artistic productions lasted the life of woods and the memory of the earth. We will meet these artists after the seaside visit and learn about the character of material, ways to handle the woods.
