Jinzun

In the Jinzun Recreation Area, you can overlook the whole Jinzun Bay. The remote land-tied island and white spray constitute such a gorgeous scene that you must sit down to appreciate it.

Chiaming Lake

The reason why many mountain-climbers prefer to go to the Southern Cross-Island Highway is to visit Jiaming Lake, called angel tears. It is one of the most popular mountain trails in Taiwan.

Chihshang

Chihshang is the northernmost township on the plains of East Rift Valley in Taitung. Chihshang is an important granary of Taitung,and its major product is the re-nowned quality Chihshang Rice.

Tao culture

The traditional Tao culture on the island is the most fascinating part of Orchid Island. The flying fish season from Feb. to Jun. each year is the most important fishing and hunting activity for the Tao people.

The Luye Gaotai has excellent views of the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range, offering a bird’s eye view over the confluence of the Luliao River and Beinan River.

The coast at Wushibi and Donghe is sandy and so relatively safe for surfing. The surf can be quite good, and suitable for beginners, when the northeast monsoon blows and in summer.
